Kohli & Pujara slam 100s:
Kholi & Pujara made their centuries to put team India in great command on day1 at VIZAG. Both of them added 226-run stand for the third wicket to secure India’s position in the second test.
England bowlers found it very difficult to break the partnership between both of them. James Anderson showed a good comeback by taking 3 wickets on day1.
Both Stuart Broad and James Anderson tried their best to find the key to open the door which was closed by Kholi & Pujara.
KL Rahul’s comeback from injury (replacing Gautam Gambhir) lasted just five balls as he poked and nicked Broad to third slip.
In the start M.Vijay was looking in the good form, but got out on the short ball from James Anderson. M.Vijay scored 20 runs from 21 balls in which, he hit four boundaries.
The duo joined hands after India were reduced to 22 for two in just five overs.. Then started the dominating play from both the end by Kholi & Pujara.
Kholi scored unbeaten (151*). He was dropped on 56 by Rashid in stoke over which gave the lifeline. Then Kholi never looked back & scored a century.
The dropped catch by Rashid proved lethal from England’s point of view. Because player likes Kholi don’t give a second chance to jump back in the game.
Pujara scored his 10th century in the test. He has never been out in the 90’s.
226-run partnership between Pujara and Kohli is their fourth stand of 100 or more in Tests and first in their last 19 innings together. They went past their previous highest of 222 against South Africa in Johannesburg in December 2013.
